WEST LEBANON — Kenneth Duane Payton, 62, West Lebanon, died at 8:39 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2000 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1937 in Veedersburg, the son of Glen and Zula Peevler Payton. He married Marilyn Kay Lucas April 14, 1963 in West Lebanon. She survives. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. he worked for Olin Corp. for 16 years. He was the owner and operator of Payton's Barbeque in Veedersburg since 1988. He was a member of West Lebanon Christian Church and the American Legion Post #288 of Veedersburg. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren. Survivors, besides the wife, include: two sons, Scott (Stephanie) Payton, Brownsburg; Tom Payton, Williamsport; a daughter, Pam (Brent) Rademacher, Williamsport; a sister, Lois Edwards and a brother, Donald (Judy) Payton, both of Veedersburg; and five grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan Rademacher and Audra, Lydia and Elise Payton. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with John Buckley officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the American Heart Association or Family Life Center, West Lebanon Christian Church. – jlr
