PAYNE, Archie - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington, July 10 - 48 hours after his wife, expired, Archie Payne, 39 year old local resident died at his home here of intestinal influenza, the same disease that claimed his wife. Payne had been ill but a short while as had his wife, both being stricken at practically the same time. Surviving him are three sons and several brothers and sisters: Robert, Grant and Stanley Payne of Crawfordsville are brothers. Funeral services will be at the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. OW McGaughey in charge. Burial in Waynetown Cemetery. Note: He and his wife, Edith Fowler Payne are buried in the same grave.  -- kbz
