Mrs. Alta Mae Paxton, 52, of 511 S. Buchanan, was dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 6:45 p.m. yesterday (Nov. 28, 1968). Death was from natural causes. She had been in ill health a year. Born March 9, 1916, in Veedersburg, Ind., she was a daughter of Charles and Kate Hamilton Reed. She was married Sept. 12, 1937, in Veedersburg to Paul Paxton, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Jay, in the Navy in Europe; a daughter, Mrs. James (Judy) Meharry, Danville; a brother, Glen Reed of Indianapolis, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Olson of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Mildred Heaton of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister. Mrs. Paxton was a member of St. James Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star of Covington, Ind. The body is at the Lakeside Chapel at 522 E. Main. Arrangements are incomplete.

Services for Mrs. Alta Mae Paxton, 52, of 511 S. Buchanan, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Lakeside Chapel, 522 E. Main, with the Rev. Richard Newhall officiating. Mrs. Paxton died Thursday. She had been ill a year. Friends will be received at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. --typed by Walt W
