Funeral services for Darrell Dean Pavey, 26, World War II veteran who died Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pavey in Cates after an illness of three years were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Cates.  Rev, Mr. Wamsley of Attica conducted the service and burial took place in Snoddy Cemetery.  Mr. Pavey was born April 25, 1924 in Cates, the son of Ernest and Lacie Witsman Pavey. He served 33 months in the late war, 28 of it overseas.  Besides the parents, two sisters, Wandalene at home and Mrs. Lois Companos of Waukegal, Ill and three brothers, Lowell and Melvin of Cates and Ronald of Camp Gordon, Ga and the grandmother, Viola Pavey of Cates survive. - kbz
