Brookston—Angie L. Cooksey Paugh, 65, Brookston, died unexpectedly at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1989 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette, after being admitted Monday following a stroke.
She was born Dec. 27, 1923 in Glasgow, Ky., the daughter of Lewis and May Lyons Cooksey. She had resided in Brookston since 1960, moving there from Veedersburg. She was married Dec. 27, 1942 to Dallas Paugh Sr. who preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1988.
She and her husband owned and operated the Brookston IGA Store from 1960 until 1983.
She was a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Dallas Jr., Brookston; a daughter, Roxana McIntosh, Brookston; her mother, May Cooksey, Crawfordsville; three sisters, Louriede Kinslow, Thorntown; Nina Kinslow, Frankfort, and Margaret Cooksey, Crawfordsville; two brothers, Leroyce Cooksey, Indianapolis, and Winfred Cooksey Sr., Magnolia, Ky., and four grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Karen and Marie Paugh.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday in Harzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Gene Ansell officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville. – thanks to s
