Martin W. PATTERSON, 68, former resident of Jackson Heights Neighborhood died Sunday morning March 31, 1963 at Whittier, California where he had been a patient for 10 months. A retired farmer, he had lived in California 3 years. Born May 30, 1894 in Harden Co KY he was the son of William and Lena Daugherty Patterson. He was married Dec 25, 1916 to Ethel Shanault in Tippecanoe co. She died July 26, 1943. Mr. Patterson also lived in Mellott community and was member of Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Martha Dodson and Mrs. Lorraine Nobuyanna; four sons, Floyd; Harold; Edward and Delmar; a sister, Mrs. Esther Byers; a half-sister, Mrs. Harvey Burnett; a brother, William Patterson; 15 grandchildren 6 greats. He was preceded in death by a half brother and three half-sisters. Funeral services were at 2 p..m. Wed at Helms Chapel in Linden with Rev. Willis Syphers in charge; burial in Shawnee Mound Cemetery. - kbz
