Veedersburg—Frank Parsley, 86, of the Sterling community on Veedersburg Route 4, died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 1974 at Williamsport Community Hospital. He had been a patient since March 16 and had been ill for eight years.
Born Aug. 23, 1885, at Fountain Run, Ky., he was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Young Parsley. He married Grace Claywell May 22, 1910, at Burkesville, Ky., who survives.
A resident of Fountain County most of his life, he had resided at Sterling since 1938.
He had attended school at Fountain Run and had been employed with the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad in the maintenance department repairing engines for about 12 years. He had been previously employed at the Neal Gravel Co for 25 years.
Survivors also include four sons, Ray of Veedersburg Route 4, James of Fairland, Cyril and Frank Jr., both of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Martha Ann Carter of Fountain Run; a brother James of Louisville, Ky., 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with Frank Porter and Ben Tenniswood officiating. Burial was in East Union Christian Cemetery east of Aylesworth. -s
