Attica—Homer D. Parrish, 73, 1005 Mound St., Attica, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 1989 at his residence.
He was born June 27, 1915 in Jethro, Ark., the son of Lorenzo Johnson and Manda Lou Cagle Parrish. He had lived in Missouri and Arkansas before moving to Attica in 1965. He was married Dec. 21, 1933 to Diana Ritchie, who survives.
He attended school in Jethro. He had worked in the cleaning room at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, before retiring in 1977. He formerly was engaged in farming and worked on the railroad in Mississippi and Arkansas.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and VFW Auxiliary, both in Attica. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Surviving besides his wife are five sons, Jesse Sr., Attica; Herman, Palestine, Texas; Charles D. Dexter, Mo.; Robert J., Greenville, Mo. and Terry L., Covington; four daughters, Mrs. Glen (Freeda) Huddleston, Greenville, Mo.; Mrs. Bill (Betty) Jordan, Benton, Ark.; Mrs. Joe (Helen) Richardson, Havre De Grace, Md., and Mrs. George (Connie) Albert, Linden; two brothers, Henry, Ozark, Ark., and Joe, Mulberry, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Ethel Willis, Fort Smith, Ark.; Mrs. Myrtle Weatheral, Mulberry, Ark.; Mrs. Velma Jean Frazier, Fort Smith, Ark. and Mrs. Etta Sue McDonnor, Mountainburg, Ark.; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Larry; one sister and two half brothers.
Funeral services were in Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. – thanks to s
