PARNELL, Leland - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Leland Parnell, 82, of 1000 W. Main St., died Monday morning in Culver Hospital. Mr. Parnell worked for G.R. Pitman Auto Co., Kennett Murray Livestock Commission Stockyards and the Indiana State Fair. He was a member of the Newtown United Methodist Church and attended Newtown schools. Born July 7, 1893, he was a son of George and Lenna Van Meter Parnell. He was married to Lucile Robins on Oct. 24, 1913. She died June 24, 1962. Mr. Parnell made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Cyril (Doris) McMahon. Also surviving are three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and a cousin. He was preceded in death by a son, Bob. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro with the Rev. P.J. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.   --typed by Walt W
