NEWTOWN -- Fisk (Duffy) Parnell, 91, a native of Newtown, died at 10 p.m. Monday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Miles, in West Lafayette. He was born Jan. 19, 1872, north of Newtown and his parents were Robert and Minerva Voywer Parnell. On Dec. 24, 1896, he married Lela Gray. She preceded him in death n 1938. He was a farmer and lived in the Newtown area untilhe went to live with his daughter in West Lafayette 20 years ago. He was a member of the Newtown Methodist Church. Survivors besides the daughter include a sister, Mrs. Alice McBroom of El Paso, Tex.; three grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Peter Heemstra officiating. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
