DARLINGTON—Cecil Z. Parnell, 76, a resident here since 1915, died Wednesday afternoon in Witham Hospital at Lebanon, where he had been a patient since last Friday night. A native of Veedersburg, he was a son of Asa Francisco and Catherine Getts Parnell and was born Dec. 4, 1887. He was educated in the Veedersburg schools and was married in Covington April 24, 1908 to Golda Engle, who died Sept. 10, 1960. They began housekeeping in Sterling and moved to a farm east of Darlington in 1910 and five years later into Darlington. Mr. Parnell was employed for years in brickyards at Veedersburg and Crawfordsville and in recent years, until his retirement in 1954, at the Hicks Body Works in Lebanon. He was a member of the Darlington Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. David Nelson of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ralph Maxwell of Darlington; a niece, Mrs. Eugene Mott of Knox and two grandsons, two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Preceding Mr. Parnell in death besides his wife were two brothers and a half-brother. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Bright Funeral Home in Darlington. Rev. Donald O. Stockford of the Christian Church will be the minister, and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. -- typed by Walt W
