J. Fred Parham, 89, a funeral director in the Veedersburg community for 47 years died Friday July 6 at the Rudisill Nursing Home where he had been a patient for two days.  He had been ill for about two months and had been a hospital patient off and on during that period. Born on July 16, 1872 at Lawrenceburg, Tennessee he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Parham.  He was married to Minnie Harrison on July 15, 1903. She survives. A resident of the community about 50 years, he was originally associated with the Mont Boord Funeral Home at Covington.  He was a member of the Veedersburg Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge.  Still active in business, he had been a patient at St. Elizabeth Hospital recently.  Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Heustus of Detroit, Mich; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Parham of Madison, Wisconsin and three grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Monday conducted by the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home from the Parham Funeral Home. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. – kbz
