VEEDERSBURG — Eleanor V. Parham,
85, Veedersburg, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 in The Waters of
Covington. She was born April 2, 1922 in Veedersburg, the daughter of Charles
and Lillian (Miller) McDermond. She married James Arthur Parham Sept. 30, 1940
in Marion, Iowa. He preceded in death July 3, 2006. She was an avid fan of the
Chicago Cubs and enjoyed the time she spent with her family pursuing the
outdoor activities of fishing, camping, and mushrooming. She and her husband
served the Veedersburg area for many years as owners of Parham Funeral Home.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Veedersburg and the Order of
Eastern Star. Survivors include: a daughter, Janice Hazlett, Russellville; two
sons, Stephen (Diane) Parham, Robinson, ill. and Thomas (Elizabeth) Parham,
Rockton, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also
preceded in death by a sister and a son-in-law, John Hazlett. Funeral services
were at 11 a.m. Saturday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev.
Rick Williams officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made
to the First Christian Church in Veedersburg and the Down's Syndrome
