PARENT, A.G. "Gernie"

Tangier—A. G. “Gernie” Parent, 84, of Tangier Route 1, died at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 at his home. He had been ill for some time.

  Born July 24, 1890, at Tangier, he was the son of David L. and Emma Osborn Parent. On April 24, 1914, he married Ella N. Norris, who survives.

  A retired carpenter, he also worked at the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. at Montezuma. He was a birthrite member of the Rush Creek Friends Church near Tangier and was a member of the Kingman Masonic Lodge.

  Other survivors include a son, Perry of Fort Myers, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Virginia) Newnum of Sylvania; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

  Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tudor-Herrick Memorial Chapel in Rockville, with the Rev. Ruth Isaacs officiating. Burial was in Rush Creek Cemetery near Tangier.  – s
