PERRYSVILLE, Ind. — Kenneth Gene Owens, 48, of 10 E. Ninth, died at 11:40 p.m. yesterday (Nov. 28, 1968) at Lake View Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been ill the past year. Born Oct. 8, 1920, in Fairmount, he was the son of Ishmael and Ethel Dearing Owens. Surviving is his mother of Perrysville; three brothers, Max, Perrysville; Ishmael Jr., Newport, and Robert, Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Martin, Danville, and Mrs. Mary Tanner, Covington, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. He served in the Army for three years during World War II. He has been employed by the P & E Railroad since 1952. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST, Sunday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. The Rev. Ivan Steed will officiate. Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery. PERRYSVILLE - Kenneth James Owens, age 48, of 10 East 9th St., Danville, Ill., formerly of Perrysville, died at 11:40
p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, at Lake View Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient one day.  He had been ill the past year.
He was born Oct. 8, 1920 in Fairmount, Ill., the son of Ishmael and Ethel Dearing Owens.  He served in the Army for three years during World War II.  He had been employed by the P & E Railroad as a car inspector since 1952.
Surviving are: his mother of Perrysville; three brothers, Max of Perrysville, Ishmael Jr. of Newport and Robert of Covington Rt. 2; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Martin of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Tanner of Covington, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father arid one brother.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington.  The Rev. Ivan Steed officiated and burial was in Hicks Cemetery, west of Perrysville.  Military rites were conducted at the graveside by the Walter Hoyt Post 350, American Legion of Perrysville.
