Waynetown, May 23 - Mrs. Carrie Pearl Owen, widow of Charles R. Owen and one of Waynetown's most highly respected women passed away at the home here this morning after an 11 day illness. Death occurred at 1:20 o'clock and was caused by apoplexy.
Waynetown, May 23 - Mrs. Carrie Pearl Owen, widow of Charles R. Owen and one of Waynetown's most highly respected women passed away at the home here this morning after an 11 day illness. Death occurred at 1:20 o'clock and was caused by apoplexy.
Mrs. Owen was stricken May 12 while attended an entertainment at the Christian Church.
The deceased was born Aug 26, 1866 on a farm near Waynetown. She was the daughter of Joseph M. and Sarah Dwiggins Harvey and was united in marriage to Charles R. Owen Aug 19, 1894. Mr. Owen passed away in 1926.
Mrs. Owen was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church and had spent her entire life in this community. Surviving area daughter, Mrs. Vincent Utterback of Jeffersonville, two sons, Arnett of Indianapolis and Paul of Waynetown; four grandchildren and one brother, Bert Harvey of Filer, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Waynetown Christian Church and burial will be made at the Masonic cemetery. The Rev. Cecil Franklin will officiate and the body will lie in state for a half hour preceding the service.
