OVERFELT - Helen FLorey

Helen Hankins Overfelt, 93, of Kenner, LA and formerly of Waynetown died in Louisiana on Wednesday (July 30th).  Mrs. Overfelt was a homemaker and served as a Democratic Precinct Committeeman for over 20 years. She was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church, Rebecca Lodge, Crawfordsville Ladies Moose, Crawfordsville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion Post 445 Women's Auxiliary,.

She was born July 22, 1904 to Clint and Elsie Smith Florey in Fountain County. She married Carl Hankins in 1920. He preceded her in death in 1966. She then married Gus Overfelt in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was educated in the Fountain County schools.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Pointer of Jackson, Miss; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.  Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home of Waynetown with George Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Rebecca Lodge will hold a memorial service at 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home - kbz
