Ora L. OSWALT, 84 of Rural West Point died at 9:47 p.m. Thursday at the Country Care nursing Home at Williamsport. He had been a patient there for 3 weeks and had been in ill health 2 years. Mr. Oswalt was a lifelong farmer in Jackson Twp and also operated an excavating business. His memberships included the Indiana National Guard in which he was a member of the band. He was also a member of the Newtown Community Church, Richland Masonic Lodge 205 (past master) Family Motor Coach Association and High Note Music Club of Lafayette. He was born Dec 25, 1912, near Odell in Tippecanoe County to Garrigus Ray and Ethel Mae Peterson Oswalt. He married Helen Marie Greenburg April 27, 1941 in the Shawnee Mound Parsonage. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Dorthea) Daniel of Lafayette; a brother, Cleon Oswalt, West Point; two sisters, Corenlia Frazer of Lafayette and Eileen Newton of New Ross; two grandchildren; 4 greats. A daughter, Mary Annette Oswalt; two sisters, Beulah Thompson and Edna Speed and two brothers, Forest "Bud" Oswalt and Lawrence Oswalt are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 2:30 pm. Sunday Maus Funeral Home, Attica with Rev. John Like officiating. BUrial in Sugar Grove Cemetery near New Richmond. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home with Masonic Services scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Newtown Community Church or Newtown Boy Scouts.
