John W. OSWALT whose funeral services occurred here (Waynetown) Wednesday afternoon from the Baptist Church was the son of Benjamin and Rebecca Oswalt. He was born Feb 7, 1848 in Pennsylvania and moved to Fountain County when 6 years of age. Later he moved to Tippecanoe County where he was married to Hannah J. LAWSON and to this union six children were born: 3 of whom are living: Charles at Odell; Stella at Lester Cowden, Ill and Ida Holland at Vine Grove, Ky. His second marriage was to Miss Eliza Masterson to which union there were born five children. One boy died in infancy; Verba died 3 years ago. The three sons living are: John at home; Verne in Crawfordsville and Roy at South Raub. Besides these children he leaves a wife and ahost of friends to mourn his going. He united with the UB Church in his young manhood. His death occurred at the late home on June 26. He was 68 years, four months and 19 days old. The body was placed in the family lot by the side of his daguhter in the Masonic Cemetery. There are 3 sisters and 4 brothers surviving.   -- kbz
