Hillsboro—R. Marion Osborn, 63, third generation owner of the Osborn Lumber Co. in Hillsboro, died Friday, April 5, 1974 at Culver Hospital. He had been a patient since noon Thursday and had been in failing health several months.
Born Nov. 28, 1910, in Hillsboro, he was the son of Freeman and Sue Weidman Osborn. He was married June 29, 1940, in Danville, to Josephine Yesunas, who survives.
Mr. Osborn retired Jan. 1, 1974 from the lumber company. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High and Corvallis College in Corvallis, Ore.
He was a veteran of service with the Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 188. He also was a member of the Christina Church, a past president of the Booster Club, a former member of the Hillsboro Town Board and a member of the Indiana State Lumberman’s Association
Other survivors include two sons, Robert J. of Salt Lake City, Utah, and W. Terry of Tampa, Fla.; Miss Lois G. Osborn of Hillsboro; two brothers, Sheldon of Seattle, Wash., and Dale of Santa Rose, Tex.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Noel, in 1970.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
The Rev. Dorman Winger officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery near Hillsboro. -s
