VEEDERSBURG — J. Richard Osborn, 63, died unexpectedly at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Crawford Hotel in Crawfordsville. Until his retirement he was a consulting engineer for the Paul E. Cripe Builders of Indianapolis. Mr. Osborn a graduate of Veedersburg High School and Purdue University, taught engineering at the University of Beirut in Lebanon. He was a member of the First Christian Church at Veedersburg and of an engineering honorary society. He was born Sept. 13, 1908, in Veedersburg, the son of John L. and Olive C. DeAth Osborn. Survivors include a brother, Lawrence, and a sister, Mrs. Lela Furr, both of Veedersburg. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Parham Funeral Home. Rev. Vernon Sauder will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to favorite charities. --typed by Walt W
