ATTICA — Edith Marie Osborn, 90, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Williamsport, died at 6:15 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 1999 in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. Born Oct. 27, 1908 in Elwood, she was the daughter of Charles and Luella Thomas Flanders. She married Fred Osborn Nov. 25, 1934 in Huntington. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1953. She was raised and attended school in Elwood and resided in Peru. She lived for many years in Attica and had resided for 10 years in Williamsport, before moving to the nursing center one year ago. She was employed as a clerk in the Blumenthal's Department Store and later as clerk in Evans Drug Store, both in Attica. She retired from Evans Drug Store in 1979. She was a member of the Elwood Christian Church. Survivors include: daughters, Phyllis (Gene) Booe, Pekin, Ill., Peggy Schmid, Attica; son, James E. Smith, Indianapolis; sister, Esther Taylor, Kendallville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Gravesite services and burial were at 2 p.m., Sunday at Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with the Rev. Loren Hetrick officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of arrangements.
