Charles E. Osborn, former Veedersburg resident and for many years a lumber man in this section, died last Thursday night at midnight at his home in South Bend. Mr. Osborn was 70 at the time of his death.  His early life and manhood was spent in the Veedersburg community. He removed to South Bend about 20 years ago.  He was active in civic and church affairs in both communities and had a host of friends.  He was born Feb 21, 1878 the son of Elijah and Mary Phoebus Osborn.  He was married to Inez Hippensteel who survives. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Emma Martin of Veedersburg. The body was returned to the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. The body was returned to the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg where services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Dr. Dean Walker officiating. Burial was in Rockfield cemetery. – kbz
