Veedersburg - John K. Oden, 85 died in his home three miles south of here at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. He had been in failing health three months and in serious condition two days. A retired farmer, he was born in Benton County and was married in 1910 to Anna Foley, who preceded him in death. A brother John N. Oden died Saturday at Gary. He was a member of the EUB Church at Otterbein. Surviving are a stepson, Elvin S. Foley and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Veda Graham both of Veedersburg and a sister, Mrs. Lida Taylor of Gas City.

Veedersburg—John Kersey Oden, age 85, a retired farmer, died at 2:30 p. m. Sunday, March 10, at his farm home near Veedersburg. He had been ill three months and seriously ill two days. Born June 23, 1878, in Benton County, he was the son of John D. and Corenia Taylor Oden. He was married Feb. 25, 1910, to Anna Foley, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Otterbein EUB Church. Survivors include two step children, Alvin S. Foley and Mrs. Veda Graham, both of Veedersburg; and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Taylor of Gas City; a brother, John N. Oden, of Gary, died Saturday, March 9, and services were held Tuesday in Gary. Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the Fishero Funeral Home. The Rev. Conley Rowland officiated. Burial was in the Osborn Prairie Cemetery. -- typed by Walt W
