Tobitha Oblinger daughter of Mr. and Abraham Jarred was born in Fountain County south of Covington Aug 6, 1853 died March 15, 1923 aged 69 years 7 months and 9 days. She was married to Russel Jarvis Sept 20, 1878. To this union one child was born William Jarvis. Her second marriage, Nov 1, 1884 was to Jacob Oblinger. To this union one child was born Asa (?) Oblinger. Both children survive her. Tobitha Oblinger having lived the allotted 3 score and 10 years in the county where she was born was well known in the community and had been a constant sufferer for several years but bore her affliction with patience. Many will ever remember her many acts of kindness, always a smile and a kind word for all. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She leaves a husband, two sons and two grandchildren, a step son, Julian Oblinger whom she loved as her own, a brother, AJ Jerred (sic) one half-brother, Hamilton Martin with a hose of friends and relatives to mourn their loss. Dearest Mother how we miss thee from our circle round the fire but we know thy work is finished, Jesus called thee come up higher; our home is lonely, our hearts are sad, could she have stayed we’d been so glad, But God in His wisdom took her away where in Heaven we’ll meet her some sweet day. How sweet are the memories of those whom we love, who have gone on before us to Heaven above. Though sad be the parting that fills us with pain, thank God for the promise of meeting again. ---kbz
