Mrs. Amanda Ella Oakley, 78, died at 3:15 a.m. Monday at the home of her son, Freeman Hutts, Wingate. She had been in failing health for the past six years.  She was born April 8, 1872 in Fountain County, Ind. She was married July 30, 1887 to Lewis Hutts; Aug 20, 1899 to Allen Glascock and April 22, 1923 to William Oakley, all of whom preceded her in death.  Surviving are four sons, Herschel Hutts, Veedersburg, Freeman Hutts, Wingate; Harry Glascock, Chicago Heights and Lee Glascock, Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Alma Thomas, Wallace; a sister, Mrs. Clara Hamm, Crawfordsville; and four half brothers, Bert Newnum, Cates; Ephraim and Harry Newnum, Yeddo and Milford Newnum, Wallace.  She was a member of the Yeddo Christian Church. Funeral services were Wednesday with burial in the Centennial cemetery.   – kbz
