Hillsboro Aug 27 (1943) – Thomas M. Myers, 81 years old, retired farmer of Wallace died Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock in Wingate at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Opal Allen. He suffered a stroke of paralysis four months ago and until recently had been living in Hillsboro at the home of a son, Walter Myers. Born in Parke County July 9, 1862, the son of Emsley and Minerva Alward Myers, he was married to Mary Spry who preceded him in death 27 years ago. Since then he had resided with his children after having operated a farm near Wallace for a number of years. Besides the son in Hillsboro and the daughter at Wingate, a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Fix of Attica; a stepson, William Toney of Mecca; two brothers, Jacob of Marshall and Albert of West Lebanon and several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Wolf Creek Church near Wallace with burial in the cemetery near the church.
