Word was received Saturday, Sept. 24, of the death of Melvin Myers, age 58, of 1916 Northeast 24th, Wilton Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., brother of Conard Myers of Veedersburg. Mr. Myers was a native of Homer, Ill., and for the past 14 years he had resided in Florida. Previously, he had lived in Indianapolis and he had owned and operated a sporting goods store in Columbus. He was born March 8, 1908, the son of Alonzo and Arminta Hall Myers. He was a member of St. John Masonic Lodge in Columbus. Surviving are: his wife, Velma, of Fort Lauderdale; his mother, of Fairmount, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Maud M. See of Fithian, Ill.; and two brothers, Raymond of Fairmount, Ill., and Conard of Veedersburg. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Carrington Funeral Home at Fairmount. Burial was in the GAR Cemetery at Homer, Ill. --typed by Walt W
