Waynetown -- Homer Roy Myers, 72 in failing health for the past 5 years, died suddenly Monday. He was found Tuesday morning by Mrs. Jeff Stockdale and her son Max Smith whom Mr. Myers had resided with at Waynetown Rt 1 the past few years. Death was due to a heart attack. Born November 21, 1884 in Montgomery County, he was the son of George and Rozelle Carter Myers. He was married in 1911 to Verna Stockdale at Veedersburg. He had been a farmer all his life and for several years had also managed the Citizens Garage in Crawfordsville. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Smith Rt 4, Fowler; one nephew, Harter Sweeney, Lafayette; and one grand nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, George Roy Myers. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Servies Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev John R. Services officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace.

Homer R. Myers, 72, a former resident of the Hillsboro community was found dead Tuesday morning by Mrs. Jeff Stockdale and her son Max with whom Mr. Myers had resided at Waynetown Rt 1 the past six years. He had been in failing health for the past five years and death was due to a heart attack.  He was the son of George and Rozelle Carter Myers, born in Montgomery County Nov 21, 1884. He was married in 1911 to Verna Stockdale of near Hillsboro. His wife and a son George Roy Myers preceded him in death.  He had been a farmer all his life. Survivors include one sisters, Mrs. Uma Smith Fowler; one nephew Harter Seeney of Lafayette. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery  at Wallace. – kbz
