Permelia Elizabeth Peveler was born May 12, 1866 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.  Her death occurred Sept 24 1958 at the age of 92 years 4 months 12 days.  She was the daughter of Leonard and Amelia Peveler. She was the last of a family of 14 children, six having died in infancy.  Her parents moved to Indiana when she was quite small and to Fountain County when she was a young woman.  She was united in marriage to Byron F. Myers on June 9, 1889.  To this union two sons were born, Herman L and Earl F, both of Veedersburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Myers went to housekeeping on their farm at Steam Corner, south of Veedersburg where they lived their entire married life of 62 years with the exception of one year spent in Veedersburg. Mr. Myers passed away in august 1951.  Mrs. Myers continued living there alone until her health failed.  For 2 ½ years she had made her home with her son, Herman. She had been confined to her bed since July 7. On Sept 13 she entered the Ingram Convalescent Home in Covington where she passed away.  Her survivors are the two sons, Herman and Earl; six grandchildren, Elinor Ratcliff, Eston Myers, Susan Cronkhite, Herman J. Myers and Martha Holmes and 21 great grandchildren. Two grandsons, John Francis and Byron H. Myers preceded her in death. In her younger years she was active in the Scotts Prairie Church and Ladies Aid. She was always reading and willing to help in any Steam Corner School and community activities. As a neighbor, she was valuable. In times of sickness, death or any trouble, her neighbors first thought was to call “Lizzie” as she was familiarly known to her friends. They knew she was never too busy to come and do all in her power to bring relief in sickness or sympathy and help in death. She was a home loving and devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed. “Life is like a Tapestry – not of our design – There is a Master Weaver – Weaving every thread and line. Sometimes it is too intricate For us to understand, Trust then the Master Weaver Who has the pattern planned. “
