Rev. Claude A. Myers of Dana, age 82, died Thursday, March 5, at his home. He was born north of Dana in the Quaker neighborhood, October 3, 1898, the son of Allen and Bell Remly Myers. A retired farmer, he was a member of Lindsey Chapel Church, where he was pastor for about 40 years.
Surviving are the widow, Zula; six sons, Marvin of Cayuga, Forest of Hillsdale, Everett of Newport, Robert of Westville, Illinois, Gerald of Covington and Raymond of Chrisman, Illinois; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Grimm of Fithian, Illinois, Mrs. Helen Walters and Mrs. Norma Peterson, both of Cayuga, and Mrs. Dorothy Martin of Dana; a sister, Doris Myers of Pleasant City, Illinois; a brother, Herbert of Watseka, Illinois; 42 grandchildren and 76 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Hopewell Friends Church with Rev. Robert Garris and Rev. George Ingerson officiating. Burial was in Thomas Cemetery northeast of Dana with Overpeck Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.- thanks to S
