WAYNETOWN – Mrs. Margaret Ardella (Della) Myer was found dead in bed at her home late Tuesday. She was 81. The body was found about 5:30 p.m. after Mrs. Flora Collings, a neighbor, became apprehensive when she had not seen Mrs. Myer since Monday. She called Walter Blackford, a distant relative of Mrs. Myer, and Clyde Bowlus, town marshal, was summoned. They had to break into the locked home. Death was attributed by Dr. Fred M. Blix, county coroner, to natural causes—probably a heart attack, he said, after she had retired Monday night. Mrs. Myer was a native of near Rossville, Ill., born Sept. 11, 1879, to Wesley and Margaret Crawford Blackford. She married Howard Myer, who died Jan. 29, 1951. She also was preceded in death by a son and daughter. Three grandchildren are among the survivors. She had lived in this community most of her life. She had been reared by an aunt, Mrs. Pittinger. Mrs. Myer was a member of the Baptist Church here. The body was taken to the Servies Funeral Home. – jlr
