A graveside service for Earl H. Myer, nationally known authority on farm insurance and his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Myer, was held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro at 1 p.m. Monday, following a 10:30 a.m. service held at Flanner and Buchana's Broad Ripple Mortuary in Indianapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. Myer were former Hillsboro residents, having moved to Indianapolis in 1928, after the home office of Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. was moved from Crawfordsville to the city.  Mr. Myer was 62 and Mrs. Myer, 60.
He was executive vice-president of the Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. and vice-president and treasurer of the Town and Country Mutual Insurance Co.  A son, Earl T. Myers, is manager of loss prevention and safety work for both companies.  A half-brother, Ernest C. Myer, of Hillsboro, is a director of both companies and serves as secretary of Town and Mutual.  A half-sister, Mrs. Grace True, of Carmel, is supervisor of the typing section of the companies.
Mr. Myer was the son of Hyson J. and Mrs. Nettie Hesler Myer, born near Hillsboro, and Mrs. Myer was the daughter of William and Amanda Adkins Thomas, born in the Scott's Prairie Neighbourhood near Hillsboro.  They are survived by the son, Earl T. Myer, and a daughter, Mrs. Nettie Jane Marcum, of Indianapolis and three grandchildren.
Mr. Myer was a graduate of Wabash College and Mrs. Myer had attended DePauw University.  Both were members of the Meridian Street Methodist Church in the city.  Mrs. Myer was active in numerous clubs and service work.
Mr. Myer was a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge, Murat Shrine and Scottish Rite.
Mr. and Mrs. Myer were among 68 fatally injured in the explosion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum last Thursday night, Oct. ~~~~.  - jz
