ATTICA — Robert Eugene Mussche, 77, formerly of Attica, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001 in the Willows Nursing Center, Alexandria. He was born May 28, 1924 in Attica, the son of Edward and Mary Jane Henline Mussche. He was raised in Attica and graduated from Attica High School in 1943. After high school he entered the United States Marine Corps and served during World War II. After service he worked for the Lafayette Transit Company as a bus driver from 1945-1959. In 1959 he moved to Glenview, Ill. and was employed as a maintenance foreman for the General Financial Corp. in Evanston, Ill. In 1980 he moved to Stockton, Calif. and worked as a maintenance foreman for the Dameron Hospital. He returned to Attica in 1994. Later in 1994 he suffered a stroke and moved to the Regency Place in Lafayette and for the past two years had lived in Alexandria. He enjoyed house painting. Survivors include: a sister-in-law, Mara Lou Mussche, Attica; a niece, Tina (Harry) Darding, Attica; a nephew, David (Joy) Mussche, Brookston; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edmond and Paul Mussche. Memorial gravesite services and inurement will at 2 p.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, is in charge of local arrangements. – jlr
