COVINGTON - Mrs. Clara B. Murray, age 77, 1215 Third St., died at 10:21 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at Lake View Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient one day. She had been in ill health three months. Mrs. Murray was born Aug. 28, 1891, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Allen and Julia Thompson Noble. She was married to James H. Murray, June 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1966. She was a life resident of the Covington area and a member of the First Baptist Church here. Surviving Mrs. Murray are: one son, Arthur Hodge of Danville, Ill., three half-sisters, Mrs. Wilma Cornett of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Lulu Auter and Mrs. Eva Hale, both of Covington; and her stepmother, Mrs. Ola Noble, also of Covington. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. James Downey, pastor of the First Baptist church of Covington, officiated and burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery. --- typed by CA.
