COVINGTON — Alvin Gene Murray, 40, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Veterans Hospital at Indianapolis. He had been in failing health nine months and seriously ill two months. Mr. Murray, a lifelong resident of this community, was employed as a molder at Harrison Steel in Attica until his health began failing. He was a member of the Fifth Street Church of Christ here. Born Nov. 10, 1924, at Covington, he was a son of Roscoe and Ethel Holland Murray. He was married Jan. 18, 1947 to Doris Warrick, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Tom, at home; a brother, Walter of Covington, two sisters, Mrs. Betty Brewer of Covington and Miss Doris Elizabeth Murray of Crawfordsville; an uncle, three aunts, 13 nieces and 10 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fifth Street Church of Christ. Rev. Roger James will officiate, assisted by Rev. Ed Zimmerman. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery here with military graveside rites. Friends may pay their respects at the Hegg Funeral Home here.
