Mrs. Stella Clem Murphy, age 82, a former resident of the State Line community died at 5 p. m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at her residence in Stilesville, Ind. She had been ill for three weeks. Mrs. Murphy was born Jan. 15, 1879 near State Line, the daughter of Cornelius V. and Martha Ruark Clem. She was married April 7, 101 to James O. Murphy, who preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1933. Mrs. Murphy had been a resident of Stilesville for the past 30 years and previous to that had resided in the State Line area. She was a member of the Christian Church of Stilesville. Survivors include: one brother, Thomas Clem of West Lebanon; one niece, Martha Rose Richmond of Stilesville and one nephew, C. V. Clem Jr., Indianapolis, whom she had reared in her home after their mother's death; and another niece and nephew, Terry and Cindy Richmond of Stilesville. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p. m (CST) Friday at the funeral home here. Burial will be in Gopher Hill Cemetery in Warren County. --typed by Walt W
