Sarah A. Murphy of near State Line City died Friday Jan 25, 1913. She was born in Harrison County, Kentucky Sept 6, 1829. She was married to John G. Murphy Nov 15, 1849 and to this union were born 9 children, six of which preceded her to the better land. Her husband died ten years ago. The surviving children are Clara McDaniel of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Clara Makenson of Danville, Ill and Harvey Murphy who lives on the old home place. She leaves 14 grandchildren and 14 great grand children to mourn her death. She united with the Christian Church in early life and we can truthfully say she lived a consistent Christian all her life and left the bright evidence that was has gone to her happy home. The last words she said were: “My happy home, my happy home.” Sister Murphy leaves a host of friends to mourn her death. Funeral services were held on Monday following her death at 10 o’clock a.m. at the home of Rev. Sister Miller of Veedersburg. Burial followed in Baltimore cemetery. –- kbz
