COVINGTON - Mrs. Minnie B. Murphy, age 90, a life resident of Warren County, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient two weeks. Mrs. Murphy was born May 14, 1878 in Warren County, the daughter of Benjamin and Florence Emma Miller Ricketts. She was married Oct. 15, 1896 to Harvey Murphy, who preceded her in death Jun 18, 1956. She was a member of the Benson Chapel United Methodist Church and made her home north of Foster in Warren County. Surviving Mrs. Murphy are: one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Elva) Adkins of Covington Rt. 2; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Nora VanPelt of Covington, Mrs. Bessie Brier of Lafayette, Mrs. Eva Wilson of Attica and Mrs. Ferne Ward of Covington Rt. 3; and one brother, Albert Ricketts of Danville, Ill., Rt. 5. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 23, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. Charles Williams officiated and burial was in Gopher Hill Cemetery in Warren County.   -- typed by CA.
