Mrs. Emma E. Murphy, 82, a former Danville resident, died at noon yesterday (March 2, 1969) in Colonial Manor Nursing Home at Westminster, Colo., where she had been a patient one year. Before entering the nursing home she made her home with a son, Robert R. Murphy of 10806 Livingston Drive, Denver, Colo. In Danville she had lived at 206 Illinois for 35 years. Born June 20, 1886, in Newport, Ind., she was a daughter of John and Ida Wray Randolph. She was married Jan. 20, 1910, in Danville to Edwin Hayworth, who preceded her in death. Surviving from this marriage is a daughter, Mrs. Audrey Schulz of Evansville, Ind. She was married Aug. 26, 1925, in Danville to Charles E. Murphy, who preceded her in death in January of 1953. Surviving from this marriage are two sons, Charles William Murphy of Minneapolis, Minn. until recently a Danville resident, and Robert R. Murphy of Denver. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Leota Woodard of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Marie Parrett of Covington, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and a step-son. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the McKinley United Methodist Church. Her hobbies were raising flowers and gardening. The body will be brought here to the Pape Memorial Home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the McKinley Methodist Church. The Rev. Eldon Gourley will officiate. COVINGTON - Mrs. Emma E. Murphy, age 82, a former resident of Danville, Ill., and stepmother of Mrs, Marie Parrett of Covington, died at noon Sunday, March 2, in Colonial Manor Nursing Home at Westminster, Colo., where she had been a patient one year.
Before entering the nursing home she lived with a son Robert R. Murphy in Denver, Colo.
She was born June 20, 1886, in Newport, the daughter of John and Ida Wray Randolph. She was married Jan. 20, 1910, in Danville to Edwin Hayworth who preceded her in death.
