MELLOTT — Shirley Murdock, 32, of Paducah, Ky., is dead of injuries from a two-car crash June 6 that killed her husband, Raymond Murdock, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rice of Mellott, and her 13-year-old daughter, Shellie. Three other children of the Murdocks — Nancy, 9, Brenda, 7, and 11-month-old Ray Ann — also were hurt in the collision. Nancy and Brenda have been released from the hospital, but the baby remains with fractures of both legs. The Murdocks were returning from a visit with his parents at Murray, Ky., when their car was struck by one driven by a man who was being pursued by police in a high-speed chase. He also was killed in the crash. Services for Mrs. Murdock were held Saturday at Paducah. Mr. and Mrs. Rice recently observed their 65th wedding anniversary. MELLOTT, Ind. — Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rice of Mellott have received word that Mrs. Shirley Murdock has died of injuries from the June 9 auto accident involving their grandson's family. Raymond Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forest Murdock of Murray, Ky., died instantly in the wreck near Paducah, Ky. Also killed instantly was their 13-year-old daughter, Shellie. Mrs. Murdock was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sirls of Aurora, Ky. Other children injured were Nancy, 9, and Brenda, 7, who were treated and released.
