MURDOCK, Nellie McAlister - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

WINGATE --- Mrs. Nellie Murdock, 86, died in her home at Wingate on Thursday evening due to a heart attack. She had been a resident of the Wingate community since 1910. Mrs. Murdock was a member of Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, the Ladies Guild of the church, OES 435 of Waynetown and Town and Country Sewing Club. She attended schools in the Mellott area. The daughter of David and Nancy D. Baley McAlister, she was born Jan. 8, 1892. She married James Byrl Murdock of Wingate on Mar. 20, 1910. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1955. Surviving are four sons, Forrest of Murray, Ky., Robert of Speedway, Ancil of Crawfordsville and Carl of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Martha ) Rankin of Wingate; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown. Rev. Robert Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
