WAYNETOWN, Ind. (CNS) -- Mrs. Gertrude Murdock, 77, of Waynetown, died at 7:10 p.m. yesterday (Jan. 26, 1968) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, Ind. She had been ill since September, 1966 and critically ill since Dec. 12, 1967. Born Sept. 21, 1890 at Wallace, Ind., she was the daughter of Michael and Catherine Broderick Ehrie. She was married Dec. 26, 1909 at Wingate to Glenn Murdock, who preceded her in death in 1966. Mrs. Murdock attended the United Church of Christ at Wingate where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She also was a member of the Women's Club of the Wingate and New Richmond communities. She moved to the Wingate community in 1896 and attended schools at Mellott. After her marriage, she moved to a farm five miles northwest of Waynetown. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Johnson of Chicago; two sons, James L. of Muncie and Lester E. of Waynetown Route 2; two sisters, Mrs. Julia McCollum of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Mary E. Lukas of Chicago; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown, with the Rev. Homer Hunsinger of Lebanon officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Wingate. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday. -- typed by Walt W
