ATTICA — Edgar Lee Munson, 78, 1974 E. River Road, Attica, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2002 in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. He had been in ill health since October 2001. He was born Dec. 24, 1923 in Lafayette, the son of Victor Leroy and Minnie Gertrude Farris Munson. He married Bernice V. Brunton Dec. 31, 1958 in West Point. She survives. He was raised in Lafayette, graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1941. He had been a resident of the Riverside community since 1959. He worked at Ross Gear, now TRW for 43 1/2 years retiring in 1985. He had also farmed for many years in the Riverside community. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church and held several offices in the church through the years. He enjoyed gardening. Survivors, besides the wife, include: two sons, Jeff (Cindy) Munson, Attica, Vic (Diane) Munson, Attica; three sisters, Alma Hemke and Marquetta Elming, both of rural Shadeland and Victoria Ringeisen, South Daytona, Fla.; five grandchildren, Josh, Aaron, Gery, Victoria “Tori" and Elijah “Eli” Munson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Shaw and a brother, Jimmy Munson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverview United Methodist Church with Dan Jordan officiating. Burial with military gravesite services will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. – jlr
