William Mulverhill, 59, Veedersburg, was found dead early Saturday morning, Aug. 24th, 1968, at his apartment in the Rae Shook building by night policeman, Straudiie Gossett. He was last seen Thursday and it is believed he had been dead for 2 days. Mulverhill's death was apparently the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A gun was found in a vise with a pull-chain attached. He was born Jun 6, 1909, at Fair Grange, Ill., son of John W. and Charity Askins Mulverhill. The family moved to Mellott about a year later where the father was employed as depot agent for the old Cloverleaf Railroad. William lost his hearing when he was about 10 years old. He graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf in 1929. He started in 1929 with W. I. Boggs, then publisher of the Veedersburg News, as a printer, and following Mr. Boggs' death continued in the business with Bert Boggs. He was also associated with Greencastle's Putnam County Graphic, and later with the Hub Press. Including four years at the deaf school, he was a printer for 42 years. He was also an artist and photographer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Brown. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Minor Hays, Blue Island, Ill. six nieces, Angeline James and Maxine Kruger of Morrocco, Ind., Bonnie Skinner of Peru, Ind., Carolyn Fetten of Hammond, Ind., Patsy Daley of Hobart Ind., and Dorothy Hays of Long Beach, Calif. and two nephews, Norbert Brown of Kansas City, Mo., and Joe B. Hays of Hammond. Graveside services were conducted Monday afternoon. Aug 26), at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, with Rev. Fred Erickson officiating.
