COVINGTON – Mrs. Lula Mae Moudy, 71, a life resident of the Covington area, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at her home at 8:30 Crocket St. here after a long illness. Mrs. Moudy was a member of Wabash Chapel. She was born Oct. 17, 1896, a daughter of Washington and Jane Elizabeth (Thorp) Newkirk. She married David A. Moudy Nov. 1, 1914. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Williams of Covington; a brother. Freeman Newkirk of Covington; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Alora) Holt of Veedersburg; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers. Funeral hervices will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home here with Rev. Glenn Ray officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. – jlr
