COVINGTON – James L. Morton, age 74, of 514 Third St., Covington, died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill.  He had been a patient there several hours.  Mr. Morton was born Oct. 18, 1894, at Rennselaer, the son of Frank and Dora Woodworth Morton.  He was married March 16, 1935 to Beryl Dunsmore, who survives.  He had resided in Covington the past 35 years where he owned and operated a beauty shop.  He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Markle Masonic Lodge.  Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: three daughters, Mrs. Dollie Ann Schwave of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Kelsey (Pat) Allen of Covington and Mrs. Phyllis Haymen of Indianapolis; two sons, Jack of Lewis, Del., and Jimmy of Covington; one brother, Frank of Kentland; and one sister, a Mrs. Geraldine Large of Rennselaer.  He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.  Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home.  The Rev. Harold Fogle officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  Masonic services were held Wednesday evening at the funeral home. – jlr
