MORRIS, William M.

Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

William M. Morris, better known as “Boyd“, died Monday evening about 8:30 o'clock from cerebral hemorrhage, or paralysis, just which is not definitely known having been ill only a few moments. He left William Dennis's grocery where he has been a clerk the past seven years, about seven p. m and went to his home on East Jefferson street. On reaching home a few minutes later he complained of a numbness in his left arm and leg and his wife began rubbing him. He was then attacked by a severe pain in the back of the head, and he soon began to fail. He suffered greatly and sank rapidly, but was conscious and told his wife to kiss him that he was dying. In the meantime the neighbors had been aroused and medical aid summoned and Drs. Rowland and Hicks, having arrived, did all in their power to save him, but death came a few minutes later. Boyd was a son of the late Isaac Morris and is survived by a twin sister Mary, Mrs. Ella Miles, Mrs. Charles Steward, a sister in Washington, and two brothers, Charles and Jacob, most of whom reached here in time for the funeral, and a dutiful wife, Pauline. There were no children. He was born in June, 1860 and has lived all his life in this section, a good citizen and a member of the Baptist church. He was a member of the K. of P. and the Woodmen lodges, the former officiating at his funeral held in the Baptist church Thursday at 2 p. m., interment following in Mt. Hope cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
