A gravel pit worker, Raymond Nace Morris, 57 was fatally crushed when caught by a crane while at work at the Neal Grave County west of Covington Wed afternoon at 2:45 o'clock. According to Dr. James Crane,Warren County coroner, Morris was apparently reaching under the crane when it was turned, catching him by the left hand and arm and dragging him into the machinery. Death was thought to have been instantaneous. An employee of the company 25 years, Morris was known as a careful worker. Born Oct 3, 1895 in Covington he was the son of Riley and Cora Remster Morris. He was a veteran of WWI serving overseas with the US Army for 21 months. He is survived by his mother and three brothers, James L, Leslie W. and Max D, all of Covington, and with whom he made his home. Two sisters, Mrs. Goldie L. Cranmore, Indiana and Mrs. Pearl Simpson, Ft. Lauderdale Fla also survive. Funeral services have been tentantively set for 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home Rev. Elwood Anderson will officiate and burial will be Prescott Cemetery north of Covington

Raymond Morris, 57, resident of Covington was crushed to death at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Neal Gravel Company west of Covington.  Mr. Morris was caught in a crank and was dragged into the operating machinery of the gravel company.  He is survived by his mother and three brothers, all of Covington. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at Covington – kbz
