ESCONDIDO, CALIF. — Kerry Lee Mornout, 51, formerly of Veedersburg, died at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 26, 1999, at Palomar Hospital, Escondido, Calif. Born Aug. 21, 1948, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Ralph W. (Jack) and Mary Lou Evans Mornout. He married Claudia Williams Aug. 7, 1971, in Veedersburg, who survives. He was a former member of the Veedersburg United Methodist Church. He was employed by Lamart Corp. as the western regional manager. He formerly owned the Kleen Sweep Co. of Lafayette. He graduated from Fountain Central High School and Indiana University. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially golf and assisting his sons basketball and baseball teams. He spent many hours studying, creating and growing bonsai plants and flowers. He was a student of Tae Kwon Do. He also enjoyed his many friends and people he met throughout his work-related travels. Survivors, other than his wife, include his son, Andrew W. of San Diego, and his parents of Veedersburg. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Rob Rixman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Visitation is from 6:30-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Veedersburg United Methodist Church. – jlr
